Our mission is to save lives, protect the environment, and improve rural economies by empowering underserved rural and peri-urban women with equitable access to clean, affordable, reliable and sustainable energy, while creating pathways for entrepreneurship, financial inclusion, climate resilience and inclusive economic development. We work to transform the lives and livelihoods of women, particularly those who are energy-poor, off-grid and underserved, by addressing the health, environmental and economic challenges associated with harmful energy practices and limited access to sustainable technologies. Through our Gender Social Enterprise Model, we facilitate access to clean energy technologies, clean cooking solutions, renewable energy products and climate-smart technologies at affordable and subsidized rates, while enabling women to participate as entrepreneurs, distributors, agents, trainers and community leaders within the clean energy value chain. In advancing this mission, we address the interconnected challenges of climate change, short-lived climate pollutants, clean cooking, environmental health, sanitation, access to clean and safe drinking water, climate-smart agriculture, circular economy, waste management, chemicals and plastic pollution, and responsible artisanal and small-scale gold mining. Through awareness, advocacy, capacity building, innovation and practical community-based solutions, we seek to reduce environmental degradation, improve public health, strengthen climate resilience, expand sustainable livelihood opportunities and enable women and their communities to become active drivers of inclusive and sustainable development.
