The inaugural meeting of the steering committee of the Nigerian Alliance for Clean Cookstoves held yesterday, September 2, 2015. The Steering Committee is charged with the strategic planning and implementation of Alliance goals and objectives.
Christine K of the Heinrich Boell Foundation emerged as the Chair, while Ewah Eleri, ICEED was nominated as vice-chair. The chair is expected to lead the Alliance in delivering its goals, chair meetings and carry out representational duties.
Yesterday’s meeting deliberated on the N9.2 billion Federal Government Clean Cookstoves scandal, set a date for the Nigeria Clean Cooking Forum 2016, and agreed on plans for approval of Nigeria’s National Interim Standards for Biomass Stoves.
